It's 8.30 am on Saturday 5th April at the Southern Highlands Scottish Gathering.
The misty rain is still around as Kevin and Fae arrange their Clan Gregor Society display in the Clan tent area.
There is a bustle of activity as everyone prepares for the parade along the main street of Bundanoon and into the oval.
A Pipe Band leads off with the Clan Gregor team marching second of the Clans. Banners are proudly held up in front of the 30 strong contigent of MacGregors.
Crowds line the streets to cheer until the parade sweeps into the oval where approximately 5,000 people await.
Half an hour later the completed parade melts into the background as the 20 or so Pipe Bands, resplendant in tartans and plaids, line up for the march of the massed bands.
It is a stirring sight and sound to the start of the day.
At the Clan Gregor tent visitors stop to chat to Rex Harding, Kevin and Fae McGregor who are ready to answer questions about their heritage and invite them to become members.
A total of 26 MacGregors sign the visitors book.
The sun finally appears and people settle in for a day of fun and excitement as bands compete, dancers kick up their heels, Viking Warriers roar in mock battle and cabers are tossed.
Late in the afternoon the rainclouds burst onto the event, but still everyone stays to enjoy Celtic music, the many stalls and activities.
The day has been successful for all.
We hope all our MacGregor visitors had a great time.
There was a wonderful mix of MacGregor people from Canberra, Wollongong, Alice Springs, the Southern Highlands, the Central NSW Coast and Sydney as well as Frank Mcgregor, an especially welcome member from Tasmania.
Fae took a number of photos including one MacGregor group photo.
These will be posted on the blog as soon as they become available - so watch this space.
Yours in Clan friendship.
Rex Harding
