Rob Roy Memorial Day is at Rawson Park Mosman on the 28th December 2014.
This event starts at 6.15pm and we encourage you to bring a picnic tea.
During the event we will walk to the Cairn that represents stones gathered from all over Scotland where we will remember Rob Roy MacGregor with a little history and music.
The event usually finishes about 7.30-8.00 pm.
For those who do not live in Sydney and cannot attend, why not look up your history of Rob Roy and perhaps enjoy some Scottish music at home.
I hope that all MacGregors enjoy a happy, safe and healthy Christmas and a joyful New Year in 2015.

A Great Day in the Southern Highlands
It's 8.30 am on Saturday 5th April at the Southern Highlands Scottish Gathering.
The misty rain is still around as Kevin and Fae arrange their Clan Gregor Society display in the Clan tent area.
There is a bustle of activity as everyone prepares for the parade along the main street of Bundanoon and into the oval.
A Pipe Band leads off with the Clan Gregor team marching second of the Clans. Banners are proudly held up in front of the 30 strong contigent of MacGregors.
Crowds line the streets to cheer until the parade sweeps into the oval where approximately 5,000 people await.
Half an hour later the completed parade melts into the background as the 20 or so Pipe Bands, resplendant in tartans and plaids, line up for the march of the massed bands.
It is a stirring sight and sound to the start of the day.
At the Clan Gregor tent visitors stop to chat to Rex Harding, Kevin and Fae McGregor who are ready to answer questions about their heritage and invite them to become members.
A total of 26 MacGregors sign the visitors book.
The sun finally appears and people settle in for a day of fun and excitement as bands compete, dancers kick up their heels, Viking Warriers roar in mock battle and cabers are tossed.
Late in the afternoon the rainclouds burst onto the event, but still everyone stays to enjoy Celtic music, the many stalls and activities.
The day has been successful for all.
We hope all our MacGregor visitors had a great time.
There was a wonderful mix of MacGregor people from Canberra, Wollongong, Alice Springs, the Southern Highlands, the Central NSW Coast and Sydney as well as Frank Mcgregor, an especially welcome member from Tasmania.
Fae took a number of photos including one MacGregor group photo.
These will be posted on the blog as soon as they become available - so watch this space.
Yours in Clan friendship.

It's 2014 and the year is starting well
Clan Gregor members had a wonderful twilight picnic just before the new year at Rawson Park Mosman. Rex had found music and song about the MacGregors which we played at the event.
Clan Gregor will be in attendance at the Bundanoon Gathering and the Wingham Gathering (Manning Valley). We hope to see you there.
Kevin and Fae McGregor will also be at the Bundanoon Gathering hosting our MacGregor tent.
Due to family commitments Rex will not be attending the Maclean Gathering.
I hope everyone has been safe during the fires in the Blue Mountains in NSW and in Victoria.
This year in Scotland it is the 700th anniversary of the Battle of Bannockburn and no doubt will draw a lot of visitors to Scotland. To see the events that Clan Gregor is hosting look on the Clan Gregor Scotland site. Several of our members are going to this event and we are sure they will have a wonderful time.

Merry Christmas and invite to Rob Roy Memorial Event
I wish all the MacGregor Clan in Australia the best that life can give during the coming festive season. May you all have a happy and joyous Christmas and a healthy and prosperous New Year.
You are all invited to the Rob Roy Memorial Event at Rawson Park, Mosman, Sydney, NSW when we pay tribute to Rob's life on the day of his passing at Inverlochlaribeg (Head of Loch Doine) on 28th December 1734.
We meet in the park on 28th December 2013 at around 6.15pm for a BYO Twilight Picnic. Later we are piped to the Memorial Cairn (around 7.30pm) where a short ceremony is conducted to conclude the evening.
Directions: Take Bradleys Head Road from Mosman Junction and turn left into Elamatta Ave. (Indicators are shown on the street sign). The park is at the end of Elematta Avenue, (a very short thoroughfare).
Kind regards
Rex S. Macgregor Harding
